One of the perks of being an author is that other authors will send you copies of their books. Zeke Pipher is an author whose writing I love. I wrote about his first book, Man on the Run, here.

Zeke is a pastor in Central City, Nebraska. He’s a married father of three who loves nature. He enjoys fishing and hunting. He sent me a copy of his most recent book, In Pursuit.

Even though Zeke’s book is marketed to male sportsmen, as a nature lover, I have enjoyed reading every word. Each devotional includes a piece of scripture, an anectdote from Zeke’s interesting life, and a short prayer at the end.

Having just returned from Europe, my sleep schedule is all mixed up, so I spent the hours from 4 – 6 a.m. zipping through the book and I’m almost done. I sat outside so I could hear morning break with the sounds of birds in my garden. It was a little chilly so I turned on the outdoor heater.

I’m eager to pass it on to my brother-in-law who is also a hunter and fisherman.

This would make a great Father’s Day gift for the men in your life.

Through practical ideas and relatable anecdotes, readers can better understand their strengths and their passions—and address some of the underlying struggles or hurts that make them want to keep busy or minister to others to the detriment of themselves. It gives readers permission to examine where they spend their energy and time, and learn to set limits and listen to “that inner voice."
